Owelle Rochas Okorocha, the former Governor of Imo State has been sworn in as Senator representing Imo West Senatorial District.
He was sworn in today Thursday by the Clerk to the Senate, Nelson Ayewoh after which Okorocha signed all necessary documents.
it could be recalled that the former Governor was denied the certificate of return following the issues sorounding his election. He was accused of influencing the outcome of his election to the Senate.
The INEC returning Officer of his Senetorial zone confessed that he announced the Senetorial Zone election results under duress, the outcome of which led to serious disagreement and legal battle with his party, the All Progressive Congress.
He was however issued issued a certificate of return on June 12 by the independent National Electoral Commission following a Federal High Court Judgement that directed the electoral umpire to issue him the certificate of return.
